Your Role
You are a finance team member responsible for completing the accounting activity of Genworth’s India affiliate (GFIPL) to meet India and US GAAP requirements. Primary duties include completing daily and monthly finance and accounting processes with secondary duties include supporting monthly close processes for the Genworth Finance Shared Service team.

Responsibilities
i) Complete daily and monthly accounting entries including revenue and expense transactions, month-end accruals and tax transactions for GFIPL.
ii) Complete GFIPL wire settlements for transactions between third party vendors and Genworth affiliates.
iii) Complete monthly GFIPL invoicing for revenue and expense transactions.
iv) Review GFIPL transactions and ensure all tax activity is properly recorded.
v) Complete monthly, quarterly and annual close processes.
vi) Prepare GFIPL monthly and quarterly account reconciliations.
vii) Support monthly analysis of GFIPL income statement and balance sheet.
viii) Recommend and implement GFIPL process improvements for financial processes.
ix) Provide the India TPA accounting team with monthly support documentation as required.
xi) Support India's Statutory and Tax annual audits.
xii) Provide primary/backup support to the US expense accounting team for the monthly close process including expense close entries and analysis as needed.
xiii) Provide primary/backup support to US PO, A/P and T&E team for daily processes.
xiv) Participate in special projects and initiatives for Genworth Finance Shared Service team as needed
xv) Participate as a surge resource as needed
Qualifications
i) Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent accounting experience
ii) Chartered Accountant with experience of at least 2 years in Accounting and Finance
iii) Should have expertise and knowledge in Goods and Service Tax, Tax Deducted at Source, Income Tax Act , Companies Law and other relevant account areas
iv) Fluent English-speaking skills
v) Familiarity with India country and local tax requirements
vi) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
vii) Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
viii) Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities in a growth company environment
ix) Advanced Excel skills
x) Motivated team player
Additional Job Description
i) Performs general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements, such as balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements and capital expenditure schedules
ii) Prepares, records, analyzes and reports accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles
iii) Provides financial support including forecasting, budgeting, and analyzing variations from budget
iv) Analyzes and prepares statutory accounts and financial statements and reports
v) Conducts or assists in the documentation of accounting projects
